FAQ notes

Use FAQ answers as a starting point

The WBCAP FAQ is designed to answer the questions students ask most often during registration, merit list publication, seat allotment, document verification, and admission reporting. Short answers are useful when a deadline is close, but students should still read the full official notice before taking action.

For example, a general answer about documents may list marksheet, identity proof, photographs, category certificate, domicile proof, and allotment details. The exact requirement can still vary by college, course, category, and reporting method. Always compare the FAQ answer with the current notice on wbcap.in and the allotted college website.

Questions that need official confirmation

Some questions cannot be answered safely from a general guide alone. These include whether your specific allotment is confirmed, whether a payment has been received, whether a certificate is acceptable, whether you are eligible for an upgrade, and whether a college requires physical reporting. Those answers depend on your application and the latest official instruction.

If an answer affects your seat, payment, reporting, or deadline, verify it directly. Use this FAQ to understand the process, then use the official portal to confirm candidate-specific status. This separation keeps the information useful without pretending to replace the admission authority.
